REGULAR ACTIVITIES

We offer a series of classes and training activities that promote cultural enrichment

related to the heritage of Hinduism.

Gujarati classes are aimed at both Children aged 4 and over, as well as Adults. They were created primarily to maintain the cultural roots of the Community originating from Gujarat, which constitutes the majority of the Hindu Community of Portugal, but also open to anyone interested.

Upāyana Project, in partnership with the Hindu Community of Portugal, announces the launch of the second module of “Introductory Sessions to Hinduism”. Introductory sessions on the fundamental concepts of Hinduism will be offered, aimed at curious individuals, scholars, and practitioners.

Hindu Philosophy special for children, but adults can also attend. The classes are free, given by Shastriji Ravi bhai Joshi, with fabulous explanations inspired by Gurudev Pujya Bhaishri Rameshbhai Oza. All the explanations are given in Portuguese.

Aulas de Bharatanatyam Flyer.jpg

Bharatanatyam is a classical dance originating from Tamil Nadu, South India. It has a strong connection with theater, using symbolic hand gestures and facial expressions to build narratives.

It is characterized by the rigor of

geometric lines, in which the dancers resemble living sculptures.

Kathak originates from the traveling bards

of North India who communicated stories through dance, song and music. Practicing Kathak is excellent for self-discipline, strengthening the body and mind, in addition to the aesthetic qualities of dance. You can also learn folk dances.

The practice is adapted for little ones, making it interactive and creative.

The poses are inspired by nature and animals.

The sessions include music, stories, and games that encourage body expression and concentration.

Hindustani Classical Music developed over centuries in North India, with roots in ancient Vedic musical traditions. It is characterized by a complex fusion of scales, rhythms,

and emotional expressions,

including improvisation (raga) and

rhythmic expression (tala).

Discover the richness of Indian flavors,

the intensity of the spices,

the textures that mix together.

The Indian Gastronomy workshops will take place regularly from October onwards, a hands-on learning

and tasting experience.
